The setting sun was half hidden over the deep blue lake. It was that type of sunset – its beauty takes you out of yourself completely, like all beauty does. The large clouds pink silhouette, held dark by the suns red glow, seemed too intense. The green leaves of the trees heightened the beauty of everything the sun’s rays touched. As it slowly dipped into the lake, the sky was a collage of colors – red, orange, purple, and yellow. The earth’s
light and another day had ended.

If only man could set the past behind him and reach for tomorrow with wonder and excitement for just what is. Instead we, in our thinking, will toil with the events of the past and keep them alive to justify our petty little existence. We are lost in our money, acquiring material things or, far worse, the material processes of our mind, acquiring prejudice through our nationality, religions, images, ideals, and beliefs, for our egocentric pleasure.

The things that thought creates and values have very little meaning in truth. They are projections of the mind, and any projection, however perfect, will lead to deterioration of the mind. A beautiful mind is an innocent mind. It sees without any malice and listens without projecting anything in or out of the conversation. It listens with compassion and care, it is gentle. It is fully awake and therefore knows that the truth told without love is a lie.
